What does “Haux” mean?

“Haux” (pronounced ‘Howsh’) is a term that comes from the Brazilian Amazon, a place that holds a piece of my heart. In this part of the world, the snake says “Haux” (instead of “hiss”), and the snake is the symbol of the Grandmother Healer, Ayahuasca—a vine found in the jungles of South America. To this end, “Haux” has come to mean “the cure comes”.

Please join us in celebrating and deepening our healing by accepting that “the cure comes”. It is and always has been within each one of us. Haux!

Hello, bright soul! I am excited that your journey has led you to Haux Gatherings. The Universe has a way of bringing us to the things that feed us, but only when we’re ready. I, too, was brought to Haux Gatherings when the time was right for me. Throughout my life, I have experienced traumas and emotional wounds. I handled those by falling into addiction—with drugs, alcohol, and relationships. My life unraveled, until I found myself ready to seek help. After some time, I came to the realization that I had the innate ability to heal myself. There’s a quote I love:

“Your wounds may not be your fault, but your healing is your responsibility.”

I became an active participant in my own healing. This path led me to discover all the gifts Mother Earth has given us to do this work—plants, animals, and humans alike. I came to realize that this innate ability to heal myself is an ability that every single person has! But just like I could not heal myself on my own, neither could anyone else. From there, Haux Gatherings was born—to gather together those who are active participants in their own healing and provide spaces to celebrate and deepen that growth.

In my work, I share my experience and knowledge, gained through life experience and formal education. Although I do not hold licensure, I have advanced degrees in Counseling and Human Development. My approach typically involves a mix of somatic, parts work, inner child healing, and non-dual wisdoms. I specialize in LGBTQI+ and am an active board member of the Queer Psychedelic Society. If you'd like to read more about my personal story, you can click here.

I wholly believe that money should not be a barrier to healing. Haux Gatherings is grateful to have a Scholarship Fund that is funded 100% through donations and over 60% of services are paid through this Scholarship Fund. In this way, we are all supporting one another along this healing journey. If you are interested in becoming a donor, please reach out to me directly.

I look forward to connecting!
